Association of Czech Furniture
Manufacturers
The
Association of the Czech Furniture Manufacturers was founded in 1995. It
follows up the tradition of the joiner partnership that contributed to a
professional growth and social acknowledgement of the craft, industry and
design, especially in the period between the world wars. A mission and target
of the association is to promote and represent interest of all who deals with
development, production and sale of furniture. Broad activities include also
monitoring European market with furniture and observing works referring the
accession to the EU. The association has forty members that come from big and
small size companies and professional schools. However the production of
association members represents a 40% share of the total furniture production.
The association offers to their member’s necessary information of statistical
results of furniture production and submits analysis of individual articles. A
steadily growth of the furniture production and improvement of profit represent
a positive development. The foreign trade balance is also favourable. The
furniture industry changed significantly after 1990. Big companies reduced
efficiently number of their employees; the technical level of Czech companies
was approximated and compared with the level of European furniture production.
The highest shares of export on the production are achieved by following
producers: TON a.s. Bystrice pod Hostynem; TUSCULUM a.s. Rousínov. Also small
and medium sized companies convince nevertheless with their products and design
about their part on the market. The association helps their members to find
ways how to engage the Czech furniture industry to European furniture market.
The Czech furniture industry has at his disposal an industrial capacity
exceeding the consumption of the Czech Republic and is able to offer free
